my HCG level is only 42.2. should I be concerned? it was my first check

Repeat test after 48 hours

It is definitely a lower level and you should repeat it after 48 hours to see if it doubles in that much time.
Generally levels more than 35 are followed like this and mostly decline after a week or so.
But in a few cases it rises to normal healthy levels as well.
