Question: hair loss due to iron deficiency
Brief Answer:
Androgenetic alopecia
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
You have Androgenetic alopecia.
It is characterized by thinning and hair loss from the front, top and vertex part of the scalp manifesting as decreased hair volume and also as receding anterior hair line. It is not due to iron deficiency. Rather it is genetically predisposed and other family members may be similarly but variably affected by Androgenetic alopecia.

I am having hair loss problems , it started from january and slowly everyday i started losing hair, right now 20% of my hair is gone from the backside of my head.
I contacted a doctor and he took some test and said that i am losing hair due to iron deficiency in my body. also my diabetes is high right now at 10.2
I am taking some medications , but i keep losing lot of hair every day, it doesnt seem to stop.
Can you recommend the correct medication that i can use to control my hair loss and grow hair again, its really a big problem for me

Brief Answer:
Androgenetic alopecia
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I suggest you to use a Minoxidil 5% solution (Mintop forte), 1ml, twice daily along with finasteride 1mg tablet (Finax 1mg tablet). Both of these are approved remedies for androgenetic alopecia in males. Treatment is long term, preferably lifelong and goal of treatment is to arrest further progression of thinning of existing hairs and regrow as much hair as possible. Both of these are prescription medications and therefore I suggest you to kindly talk to your local practitioner for a prescription of the same. Results take time and it may take 3-6 months for a noticeable response. Maximum response is seen after 1-2 years of continued treatment with both minoxidil solution and oral finasteride.
