Is Having A BP Reading Of 145/110 A Cause For Concern?

May be a one-time finding
Detailed Answer:
Greetings and welcome to HCM. I understand your concern.
Well, normal blood pressure figures are considered 100-139/60-89. Even with applying medication, we always aim to keep these figures. Now, if your grandmother is not experiencing any symptoms, then it is probably just a one-time (or some-time) finding, because blood pressure is a parameter that fluctuates in broad spectrum, during a day, mainly because of physical activity and psychological stress. The diastolic pressure of 110 mmHg is high, but it may be found even at young ages, at certain times in a day. Therefore, I would recommend that you take her blood pressure 3-4 times a day in different periods, and if diastolic is still found high, then we can discuss about adjustments in therapy. My recommendation is that calcium channel blockers, especially "the dipins" aid in lowering the diastolic fraction of the blood pressure, which you may discuss with her curing physician.
I hope my answer is helpful. I am happy to help, if you have follow-up questions.
Best regards,
Dr. Meriton
