Is Having A Clear And Odorless Vaginal Discharge A Cause For Concern?
possible cervicitis and not perforation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to HCM for an opinion,
The fact that its a clear vaginal discharge which is odourless indicates that it is neither urine nor a peritoneal fistula. A urinary fistula would have had a urine smell , rectal fistula would have had specks of stools and peritoneal fistula is unlikely simply because in absence of any injury vaginally or any recent operative surgery, peritoneum over vaginal fornix would not get rented on its own. The most likely cause seems cervicitis in your case which can cause increased cervical mucous discharge which is clear fluid like and odourless mostly.
The doubt regarding copper -t perforation can be confirmed by a series of X-ray both anterior ap view and a lateral view which can be a guide regarding location of copper iucd from the spine. Perforation would have caused acute abdomen and accompanied peritonitis often and abdominal ache or PID. However, the next best step remains X-ray pelvis to establish location of copper-t to rule out perforation though i still feel its cervicitis.
