Is Heat Stroke A Fatal Disease?

Question: Hi. I suffered a severe Heat Stroke years ago . I never received any first aid. I suffered from a severe heat exhausting disability for over 20 years, I suffered from a cognitive brain disability and I still suffer from high blood pressure. Did I suffer these disabilities because I never received any first aide for my heat stroke-brain injury?

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Heat stroke is a very serious acute condition which requires immediate treatment. If not so it the patient will continue to deteriorate and death will occur. So I am a little puzzled by the fact that you have survived without treatment and I wonder if the diagnosis of heat stroke is correct, perhaps it was heat exhaustion which is of a milder degree.

Regarding long term complications of true heatstroke, yes, they are possible, it can cause permanent cell death in the brain and can cause various neurological deficits. So if those symptoms manifested after the heat stroke it could well be the cause.
