Is Homeopathic Medication Effective For Allergic Rhinitis?
Question: How long should I continue with the Homoeopathy medication for Allergic Rhinitis? The current programme is designed for 1.5 - 2 years. Is it safe to continue medication for this long or should I stop somewhere in between to check if further medication is required or not?

Hello Doctor, thank you for coming back. Unfortunately, I don't have the name but attached the pics for reference. Not much detail though. Will get the details when I visit the doctor next time. The issue mentioned in the doctors note is allergic sinusitis.

Its difficult to asses the course of medicine without the name. In homeopath their are acute medicine which are short acting and Chronic medicine or long acting medicine. These long acting medicine are suggested on chronic disease in different potency.
Without the name and potency of medicine its difficult to say about the duration of medicine.
We do have many patient who were under homeopathic treatment for allergic rhinitis and they were cured with in duration of 6 to 12 month maximum.
Some time the response of medicine slow that's why course of medication long for 1 year.
I would suggest you to get the name of medicine so that we could suggest you to requirement of medicine and their course.

I did speak to the clinic today and confirmed the name of the medicine. It is Calc-C - 200C. I have been having it for 1 month and 1 week now. There is significant positive effect but again, wanted to know if this is fine to consume over a period of 1.5 - 2 years. Many thanks for your quick replies.

Calcarea carb is constitutional medicine. This is basically given in coryza and primary nasal infection. medicine has good role to prevent nasal infection during the winter. medicine is good for initial relief but has no big role complete cure in allergic rhinitis.
you are taking the medicine since 1 month, i would suggest to continue the medicine for 1 more month, if you are getting relief then its ok otherwise you required to change the medicine.
As far as duration is concerned no need to take medicine for 1 year or more.
