Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Male/58 - visited Doctor - emergency hernia Surgery last XXXXXXX - within a month developed scrotal swelling - ultrasound shows to be hydrocele - stiff tubes on right groin on waking up - wants to know whether needs hernia repair/hydrocele surgery or both - and approximate cost ...
It is for sure that hydrocele surgery be done as it is not resolving. This also indicates that there may be tightening around the cord structures. But this developed after a month means there is more scarification that caused this.
Revision of the scar tissue may help you to get alleviation of the stiff tubes.
It is the clinical evaluation, examination by a General Surgeon and revision ultrasound with color doppler examination that will give the best idea whether you need the release of the scar and whether it will help you or not.
I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

Detailed Answer:
Oh, actually I did not answer this part only due to the variations of the costs depending upon the seniority of the surgeon, hospital, facilities and so on and I really do not know the way it is done in Alaska.
Requesting you to inquire around to get the exact knowledge about this.
