Question: Hi, can I answer your health question? Please type your question here...Hi, I was on .25 of Zoloft for anxiety for about 3 months. I didn’t feel a huge difference so I started to ween myself off and it’s been about two weeks since I had my last dose and I’m experiencing horrible anxiety. Should I go back on or continue to wait out these symptoms at this point?

Brief Answer:
I think you need to go back

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I read your query and understand your concerns.

First of all I like to inform you that you are dealing with anxiety and not the withdrawal symptoms of Zoloft. Although you perceived that you do not have any great effect and so decided to wean off zoloft but it seems to me that there was definite effect with the medication.

My assumption is based on the fact that you developed anxiety slowly after weaning off and even after passage of two weeks there is active anxiety (read horrible anxiety). This rarely take place after withdrawal of 25 zoloft of three months in a normal individual or a person who barely responded to zoloft.

Considering these facts I feel going back to Zoloft is well advised to deal with current set of symptoms.

I hope this helps you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
