Is Intermittent Discomfort And Pain In The Upper Stomach Region A Serious Concern?
Question: Intermittent discomfort in Upper stomach region. Painful (a 4 on pain scale) at times. First time I've ever had this and it has been intermittent for approx. 2 hours. Sudden onset. Only med is 20 mg. Lipitor for about 20 years. No other; just otc asa 81, multiple vit. And extra vit. d.

Pain in Upper abdomen can be due to issues in the Stomach,Liver, Pancreas etc.
Upper GI endoscopy will rule out stomach issues.Ultrasound abdomen will exclude diseases of Liver,Pancreas, Kidneys etc.
Please consult your doctor and get investigated.
Till then,I prescribe Omeprazole to my patients with similar
complaints.

Thank you for your recommendations. This pain has disappeared, not bothering me for at least 2 hours. Is this usual?
