Is Intermittent Pressure Radiating Across The Back, Shoulder And Base Of The Neck A Serious Concern?
Question: I occasionally have a brief 30 second wave across upper back shoulders with gripping sensation including base of neck. This has happened about 5 times in last month. Most recently yesterday. Lasts only 30 seconds. Usually I have been doing nothing at the time, walking across the room, sitting, not lifting or working.
Brief Answer:
Could be cervical disc
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Frankly speaking, apart from one possibility of Cervical Disc Prolapse at C4-5 Level, nothin else seems to fit in your description of symptoms.
Since the symptoms are so infrequent, I would not suggest any medicine. But I would recommend one X-ray of the neck, and muscle strengthening exercises for neck. Also, I would recommend blood test for vitamin B12.
Hope this is useful. Please feel free to ask any other question.
