Question: Wife, 75, has severe pain, both sides of lower abdomen, it comes and goes, past six hrs. Has been constipated, took milk of magnesia, no results in 6 hours. She also has mild parkinson’s Disease, doubt this is related. Took two 500 mg Tylenol 2 hrs ago, still has off/ on pain. YYYY@YYYY
Brief Answer:
Requires glycerine suppository and antispasmodic medicines.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX,
I have gone through your query for your wife.
* The current pain on both sides of lower abdomen is related to constipation issue.
* As there is no relief from milk of magnesia and tylenol 2 tablets,
She requires glycerine suppository (to be kept inside the rectum) and different analgesic which has antispasmodic action (dicyclomine or drotaverine) which requires the prescription of the doctor.
* Till that time, intake of lukewarm water at intervals will help to some extent.
I wish that she recovers sooner.
