Is Internal Bleeding In Shin A Risk Factor Post An Injury?
Question: Wanted to know if this is a more serious than I thought.
Correction, I banged my "SHIN" on a metal fire hydrant. Just wanted to make sure there were no internal bleeding/fracture signs I should be aware of.
I've attached a picture of my leg and my symptoms from webMD

Brief Answer:
Nothing serious.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query to HCM.
I have seen the image attached. There is no major swelling or hematoma in the area. Any bone injury is not likely. The mild numbness is likely to be due to a minor soft tissue swelling due to the injury. It is nothing serious. The numbness will gradually subside on its own in next few days.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
Fracture not likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
If you can bear weight on the leg and walk normally then a fracture is not likely. A deep bone bruise can cause the numbness. In case there is an increase in swelling or pain then do consult an orthopedician and get an X-ray done.
Hope my answer is helpful.
