Is Irregular Periods Normal After Taking I-pill?
Question: Hi, I had unprotected intercourse on July 27, 2016. Next day I took one I-pill and another one the following day. So I took two I-pill as I was scared. My periods arrived on August 10 as per my usual period date without any delay. I usually bleed for 2-3 days maximum. The next cycle, I was late by 4 days September 14, 2016, which ha snot happened to me for some time now. And I bled only for 1.5 days and that very scanty and not at all like my normal periods. I had taken HPT by then which were negative. Post two week of my September periods, Iwent to the doctover and she asked me to take a blood test. My HCG was less than 2 in that test. On October 7, 2016, I took another blood test which showed levels less than 1.2. So pregnancy was ruled out. I was put on Meprate to regulate my periods from Oct 2 to Oct 9. I got my period on Oct 15, but my periods is even more scanty this time. I am due to be engaged next month. And I am very scared that I am pregnant as I have been reading cases where women have had negative blood tests and yet have been pregnant. My october periods was extemely scanty like for just half a day and then a lil bit the next day. Please suggest if there is any chance of pregnancy at all.
Brief Answer:
not to worry at all
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Do not worry.
Two blood tests show that its negative. That means that you are not pregnant.
Since you have taken I pill and the meprate your natural flow is disturbed. But do not worry.
Wait for next month and you will get your regularly periods.
Hope this helps.

Hi Doctor,
Thank you so much for your reply. It does ease up my tension a bit. Though my gut feeling keeps telling me that I'm pregnant since my period flow is so low. However, I have a concern, as I am getting engaged next month, my period date is around that date only. And I cannot have periods during that time period of one week. My doctor had asked me to start with Diane 35 from the third day of my period so as to pre pone it the next month, so that I am clear during my engagement week. But now that I have not even bled well for two days, I am concerned as to if should start with the medicine or not. As you said that I pill and meprate has caused such a problem with my periods,I do not know I should out more medicines in my body. But I also need to clear during that time due to rituals. I do not want to take Meprate again to delay it. Please suggest if its safe for me to take Diane 35 from my third day and pre pone my periods for November. Thank you for all your help.

Brief Answer:
can take
Detailed Answer:
Its absolutely ok for you to start taking Dianne-35. It will not cause any permanent effects on your periods. Start taking from the 3 rd day and then continue the whole pack for sure, as stopping in the middle can again confuse your ovaries.
Take care.
