Is It Advisable To Give Water To A 6 Month Old Baby?

Water can be given in small amounts
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I am glad that you have provided the corrected gestational age which is calculated with respect to the expected date of delivery. Weaning is suggested at 6 months and rather than giving only a single feed with semisolids, you can gradually increase it to 6-8 times a day. Water can be given in small amounts if the child feels thirsty. But it is to be kept in consideration that the water intake can give a sense of fullness of the stomach and hence the actual intake of food might decrease. This should not be the case. Otherwise there is no problem is water is given when he feels thirsty but not hungry.
Hope that helps.
