Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read through your query in detail.
Blood pressure is a dynamic variable and a BP recording of 150/ 100 mm Hg was high and the prescription of Ramipril was justified for you. The initial dose of Ramipril is 2.5 mg or 5 mg given as a single or in divided doses and after a month can be increased to a higher value depending on response to the medication.
The highest dose of Ramipril is 20 mg per day orally and 7.5 mg is an acceptable dose for you.
However, like any other medication, ramipril also has certain side effects which includes
(i) blurred vision
(ii) confusion
(iii) dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
(iv) sweating
(v) unusual tiredness or weakness
If you experience any of the above side effects then please discuss them with your GP doctor.
Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
Regards,
Dr.Vivek
