Is It Alright To Pop Herpes Blisters?
Question: Is it ok to pop herpe blisters?
Brief Answer:
would be best not too, may introduce infection
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
It would be best not to because this can potentially introduce infection if it is not done under sterile conditions.
It is possible to introduce bacteria into the area then this would also require treatment.
It would also increase the risk of scarring.
Continued use of the valacyclovir would help to shorten the course of the infection.
If this is used as soon as symptoms start ( when abnormal sensations are felt or initial skin changes seen), then this would produce the best response.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Brief Answer:
recurs, may need to consider suppressive therapy
Detailed Answer:
HI
This unfortunately is the problem with herpes, it continues to recur.
It is never cured.
Some persons may have frequent recurrences, others may not have as many.
You may need to used the valacyclovir continuously to prevent episodes. The dose when taking it to suppress recurrences is 500mg once daily or 1000mg once daily (1000 mg better).
Acyclovir or famiciclovir can also be used for suppression
Some persons use one of these for months to years.
