Question: Is it common for TSH to increase from lab to lab? My previous TSH was 1.67 and recently it increase to 2.37. Initially requested the lab due to persistent adult acne, family history of autoimmune disease. Thanks!

Brief Answer:
TSH normally fluctuates

Detailed Answer:
Hello, I'm Dr. Branch, thanks for using Ask a Doctor.

The normal range for TSH is around 0.4 to 4.5, depending on the lab. Within that range, it is normal for TSH to fluctuate, as the body adjusts to different stimuli. But as long as the TSH is within normal range, it is working as it should, and does not indicate any problems at all.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any questions about any of that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
