Posted on Tue, 29 Oct 2024
Question: Hi Doctor, My stomach pain started on 27 May and had it for few hours, then again on 30, 31 may and 6 XXXXXXX All the times usually for a few hours. On 6th XXXXXXX I saw the doctor and the doctor did CT Scan, few blood tests, urine test, ECG and lungs XRAY and said everything was normal. Thought it could be ulcer. I have had stomach issues before but never stomach pain. I got pain again today, it is in middle to upper portion and is accompanied with back pain. I started 20mg esomoperazole today. It is sore to touch just slightly to right and above belly button. Can you please help.

Brief Answer:
Get an Upper GI Endoscopy done asap.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Pain in upper abdomen with referred pain to the back, with normal CT scan can indicate towards acid peptic disease.
Good that you have started taking Esomoperazole.
I would advise to get an Upper GI Endoscopy done asap to know the diagnosis well.
Also stop taking oily, spicy foods and anything else that increases acidity.
Review Ultrasound may help. (Although CT scan has already been done).

I hope this answer helps you.
Please give feedback.
