Is It Common To Insert Replacement Amniotic Fluid Into The

Question: Is it common to insert replacement amniotic fluid into the womb while waiting for a doctor to perform a c section? My daughter-in-law was briefed and prepped for an unplanned c section, but had to wait while the the physician assisted someone else. The baby began to exhibit signs of stress (high of 177 heart bpm to low of 80 heart bpm). The emergency room doctor performed the fluid replacement procedure as a way of stabilizing the baby while my daughter-in-law waited for an available doctor. Her obstetrician didn't come to deliver the baby because it was her day off.
Brief Answer:
Replacement amniotic fluid is done in emergency.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Replacement amniotic fluid is a good option to revive the baby in case of fluctuating heart beat. This is done to prevent any fetal distress even during the preparation of C-section. If the doctor was not available then it is necessary to infuse amniotic fluid to save the baby from distress. This is a normal procedure and nothing to worry.
