Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question. Hope I can be of help for you today. When you have panic attacks you become hyperventilating. So breathing in a brown bag can help regulate hyperventilation. There is no risk to breath the bag by mouth if you do not breathe by nose during your cover with the bag. So you can cover only your mouth but make sure there is no breath by nose. But rebreathing of carbon dioxide (CO2) by breathing into a paper bag can cause significant hypoxemia (low oxygen in blood) with consequent complications, therefore, we do not advise using this maneuver. If rebreathing is used, we urge continuous monitoring of your oxygen saturation.

I hope that It can help you, and please let me know if you have any clarification or question about that, and I would be welcome to discuss it with you further. I hope you have good health.
