Lorazepam and alprazolam are both benzodiazapine sedatives. There is no reason to be on two different benzodiazapines. If your doctor feels that you need additional medication for anxiety then they can add a diffferent class of drug or increase your lorazepam. You are already on high doses of narcotic which can also cause sedation. Adding a high dose of alprazolam as you suggest may caused oversedation, respiratory depression, mental slowing and risk of falls.
Please consult with your prescribing physician before adding any medication to your current list of medications.
