Consult dentist for new xray to evaluate boneresorption and treatment plan.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thanks for consulting Ask a doctor service.
This is Dr. Priyanka tiwari answering your query.

I have read your query. As far as resorption of bone and pocket in tooth is concerned it is due to periodontal problem secondary to deposition of food debris and age related changes.

For proper treatment plan to save a tooth or removal you have to consult your dentist for radiograph. If
radiograph reveals bone resorption is horizontal as well as vertical bone loss and mobility of tooth in buccolingual and mesiodistal direction is present then treatment plan will be removal (extraction) of tooth.
If radiograph reveals less slight bone loss or only horizontal bone loss and slight mobility then you can save your tooth with periodontal surgery that is with bone grafting or flap surgery.

Consult your dentist for radiogragh and upload in report section for proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

Hope this will help you.
If you have further query feel free to ask i will be happy to help.

It is only horizontal not vertical.. why do I sometimes feel pain is it due to the pocket? Is it due to the sensitivity of the root being exposed or could it be an infected tooth? Thanks so much!

Brief Answer:
Pain and senstivity can be due to pocket and root exposure.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Welcome

Gone through your query . As you have detailed that there is no vertical bone loss and no mibility issue then Pain and senstivity can be due to root exposure and pocket . Consult your dentist for clinical examination and treatment option like flap surgery or root canal treatment and crown if possible.

Hope this will help you.
If you have further query i will be happy to help.
