Is It Necessary To Give Vaccinations Like PCV, HEPA And Meningococcal Vaccine?
I would suggest you to follow IAP schedule
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Government schedule is made for basic vaccination considering overall population(all economic strata). This schedule does not include many important vaccination which should be given to children. That is why a vaccination schedule is made by academy of pediatrics (IAP).
The IAP schedule includes vaccines like Hepatitis A, Pneumococcal (PCV), Rotavirus (for viral diarrhea), varicella (for chicken pox), influenza (for flu), meningococcal (for meningitis) in addition.
All these diseases are very common and dreadful in children. So vaccination should be done for these also. The dosing schedule changes with age and as your baby is 21 months old vaccination like Rotavirus can not be given (Rotavirus infection is common in first 2 years). I would suggest you to consult your pediatrician for additional vaccinations.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions.
