Is It Necessary To Go For Abdominal/pelvic CAT Scan With Contrast?
Question: Hello Dr. Bhavsar -
Thanks for following-up with me.
I have consulted two GI doctors.
One of them has suggested Abdominal/Pelvic CAT scan with contrast.
And another GI doctor has suggested Abdominal MRI with MRCP.
Wondering what will be the best test for my health condition?

Brief Answer:
get done abdominal/pelvic CT scan with contrast.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, so glad to see your question again. I am truly obliged.
In my opinion you should get done abdominal and pelvic CT with contrast. As one of the criteria to diagnose AIP (Auto Immune Pancreatitis) is based on CT finding.
If CT shows diffuse narrowing of main pancreatic duct with irregular wall than possibility of AIP is more.
And this will also help you in taking pancreatic biopsy if needed.
So better to get done CT scan.
Hope I gave solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
