Is It Normal At Age Reduced Feeling The Urge To Have Intimacy?
Question: hi doctor. we are a couple aged 35
Hi doctor. we are a married couple with two kids. (7.5yrs marriage). My husband is least interested in sex from the beginning. We have sex once a month or twice rarely. Does lack of sex impact my hirmones or physical health? I do get stressed as i feel unwanted and not cared for in the relationship.
I am blamed for feeling the urge to have intimacy.
I%E2%80%99m sure he doesnt have any affairs too.
He doesnt have the physical urge he says.
Is it normal at this age? Any remedy you can advice or any treatment is needed ?

Brief Answer:
Patient has to be assessed in detail before going for treatment.
Detailed Answer:
Dear,.
I can understand your concern.
Regarding your husband's low sex drive, it is not like any other diseases to treat with symptoms alone to have an immediate prescription. This will not work out.
It could be organic, hormonal or psychogenic problem. Without an examination and a detailed interaction (Since before marriage days onwards - adolescent days, childhood days - following marriage etc.) one cannot prescribe drugs and they will not work. Most of the problems are due to psychogenic as sexual function remains between two ears (Mind) rather than in between two thigh, Sexual act is not under voluntary control as like any other actions , but spontaneous on excitement and stimulation. Previous failures, misconceptions about sex and sexual activity and about other normal things, all will result in sexual failure. Low self esteem, guilty complex and pressure of performance all will put him to have a low sexual drive. So take him to a nearby expert in sexual medicine and he/she will solve your problem. If you tell your place, I will try to find one to help you.
