Is It Normal For New Born Infants To Defecate Frequently Throughout The Day?
Question: Hello again Dr.
As u asked to keep only one pediatrician, so i am asking you directly.
Baby poos a lot 8-9 time a day (liquid poo). He is 14 days old.
Secondly some his complexion looks more darker and sometimes not. Is it normal?
I am preferring diapers over nappies. Is it ok? or should use nappies.

Hello,
Babies of this age can pass motion 10 times per day or 10 days once also. It should not be a cause of concern if the baby is otherwise active, feeding well and urinating well.
When compared to the new bond period of 1-3 initial days, as the age progresses, the baby becoming slightly dark complexioned is also quite normal.
Actually cotton nappies are better when the baby is at home rather than a diaper.
I suggest that you reserve the diapers only when you are taking the baby out and even then it is preferable to change the diaper 4th hourly once if diaper usage exceeds more than that.
