Is It Normal To Have One Eye Bigger Than Other During Eye Infection?

default
Posted on Mon, 28 Sep 2015
Question: A few days ago I noticed that my left eye is a bit larger than my right eye. It doesn't hurt or bother me in any way, but my eyes have always looked the same.
whenever my allergies act up my left eye is the one that gets red and irritated, however my allergies are not acting up now.
I'm 23 and have worn contact lenses since I was 15.
I also just started taking zoloft about a week ago.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
It could occur due to swollen conjunctiva of one eye.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to health care magic,

I have read your query and carefully seen the image you uploaded. At present, your eyes looks fairly normal from the picture.

Here, you might be right when you say your left eye looks slightly bigger than the right eye. This could occur due to swollen conjunctiva or eye infection.

Generally, eye infection could be due to viral infection or some times allergic or it might be due to habit of fingering in the eye which induces infection.

Eye got swollen easily due to rubbing the eye ball by fingers due to itching.

In your case,it could also be due to contact lenses when they are not properly washed or cleaned with the solution before wearing on the eye.

Also, make sure you wash your hands thoroughly before applying your contact lenses, but avoid scented or oily soaps that might adhere to the lens surface.

Hope this will help you.

Kindly let me know if you have any specific problem with your eye at present,I will be happy to answer that.

Regards,
