Is It Normal To Have Spasms And Intermittent Tingling In The Extremities A Few Days After Placing Two Stents In The Heart?
Doesn't appear to be a worrisome matter
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Which spasm she is talking about, is it a coronary spasm or esophageal spasm? Either spasm will lead to chest pain. This can occur but not quite common. How much is your resting heart rate?
I guess you just had tachycardia, but no pain. Now, this increase in heart rate doesn't necessarily mean any abnormality. This can be just a sinus tachycardia which can occur due exertion, walking, nicotine patch, anxiety, any pain etc. So if you were doing any of these then it suggests sinus tachycardia. Also, if it is a gradual onset and gradual offset, regular beating heart then also it suggests sinus tachycardia.
So just go through it and let me know some more details of the tachycardia. However, in heart patients, we try to keep resting heart rate on a lower side nearly 65-70 per minute with the help of Beta blockers like Metoprolol. So you should get it optimised if resting heart is higher.
Hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts.

Its not coronary spasm
Detailed Answer:
Its not coronary spasm. Coronary spasm is less common after stents and cause chest pain rather than increase in heart rate.
So it occurred at rest. So just try to recollect, whether it was sudden onset or you didn't notice the onset and just counted after you lie down, and how it settled, gradually or abruptly. In this scenario, we just need to rule out Atrial fibrillation, which cause increase in heart rate. Next thing, if you notice such thing, also try to feel the pulse and see whether it regularly beating or it is irregular with some pauses.
If it's sudden onset and offset, irregular rhythm, if associated with symptoms like shortness of breath, dizziness, then it raises the possibility of atrial fibrillation. If such event occurred next time then try to get one EKG done to confirm the findings.
