Is it possible for a guys saliva to give you a sore throat for months just from his normal flora disrupting yours (without him having an infection)? My throat started hurting the day after saliva from a guy entered my throat & my throat cultures were negative. So it makes me think that his flora ruined mine, like my body is reacting to his flora & trying to remove it... Which is why my throat has been hurting for more than 3 months & why my chest started burning. What do u think? My story is below My throat hurts since October. I specifically remember that it hurt the day after a guy kissed me with a lot of saliva. But other doctors tell me that is not why. They did a throat culture in late October and said it was "negative." But yes, I spent 1 month with a sore and red throat ... yes, my tonsils hurt and the uvula is red. But my doctor tells me it looks "normal" ... then after 1 month of my throat hurting ... in November I started having breathing problems and my chest started to hurt and then I couldn't breathe due to the burning pain felt in my lungs. It hurt to breathe and I couldn't sleep because of the pain, so I went to the urgent care and the doctor diagnosed me with pleurisy just by listening to my symptoms ... I ended up taking 200 mg of doxycycline for 2 weeks. Doxycycline helped me breathe ... Also in December I took 1,500mg of azithromycin. This month(january) I went back to see my doctor and he said my throat doesn't look so bad it looks normal ... But my throat didn't even look like this before. They did another throat culture this month and they told me it was negative. My doctors think it is allergies and I have been taking antihistamines (cetirizine) for a month, started in December. Also my doctor recommended taking more antihistamines ... 10mg of cetirizine every day with hydroxyzine 25mg ... there were days where I took up to 10mg of cetirizine in the morning and then 10mg of loratadine at night because according to them it was due to allergies, Idk. My throat still hurts and feels tight, it hurts to talk and I also have swollen lymph nodes in my neck. I told my doctor that I felt a lump and he touched it and told me that it is a swollen node, but that it is only a little swollen so it is fine according to him. And also my chest still hurts a little, I feel that it burns a little from time to time ... it feels tight and if I touch it it hurts. I want to know why I feel like this, and what to do ... Because they did 2 cultures for "pathogenic bacteria" and they come out negative ... Could it be that his flora ruined mine and that is why all this is happening to me ??? I also went to the gynecologist and they took blood and supposedly one was to see if I had the herpes virus in my body and it came out negative. The order that things happened below: Throat has been hurting since October, then I heard something pop in my ears.. got itchy in ears & nose, then an itchy rash went all over my body, then in November my chest slowly started hurting... It burned & hurt to breathe so I went to urgent care & the doctor there said pleurisy based off of symptoms. I took 200mg of doxycycline for 2 weeks in November, then in December 1,500mg azithromycin... I also went to another doctor in urgent care because my throat was still hurting, she said if I had an infection the antibiotics should have killed the bacteria & diagnosed me with allergic rhinitis, which made sense once I looked up the symptoms.. & she said that my nose was draining into my throat... so I started taking cetrizine, took it for more than a month... then I went to go see another doctor today because just this week my nasal passages became swollen so I couldnt breathe through my nose & wanted them to prescribe me a nasal spray & I mentioned to her my throat & chest since they were still hurting.. She said my throat looks normal(so does my doctor, but my throat didnt look like this before.. I'm aware it doesnt look that bad.) & she used a stethoscope to hear my lungs. Basically she said I'm going to give u this nasal spray & hopefully that'll help the chest pain, as if its mucus falling down into my throat... but she also said "your lungs sound completely clear" & so I said "so that means I dont have mucus in my lungs.." & I asked her "so what's causing my chest pain? A virus?" & her face went blank. & just told me to go to my next appointment with my doctor about that. I also tried a lymphatic massage on my lymph node & it went down a bit & gargling salt water did help me once.... i dont know what my lymph nodes are trying to remove, since according to the doctors I dont have pathogenic bacteria, & also I dont think its coronavirus... I've had it before & it was easy for me.
