                                            Question : Hi,
I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy yesterday. The colonoscopy was fine. The endoscopy showed: z-line irregular, 40 cm from the incisors; erythematous mucosa in the antrum; erythematous duodenopathy. The first two were biopsied. The doctor said that the z-line might mean Barrett's esophagus, or not. My questions are:
1. Compared to my last report 5 1/2 years ago, are these changes significant?
2. The z-line is now 40 cm from the incisors instead of 44 cm. Is that good or bad?
3. The doctor said if it is BE that would probably mean just watching it and doing an endoscopy every year.
4. If it is BE, would it be in an early stage?
5. Is it possible it could already be EC or would he have told me that?
6. Is whatever it is treatable without drastic measures? In other words, if it was something very bad like cancer would he have been able to see that?
PS: I have had chronic gastritis with occasional acid re flux, stomach cramps, and a light cough. By eliminating spicy foods the past 6 weeks, all those symptoms are quite improved. I have uploaded the report they gave me yesterday, plus the one from 2015 for comparison.

I mistakenly uploaded my wife's 2015 colonoscopy. Please ignore that one and refer to the one I am uploading now.

                                    Brief Answer:
It's just XXXXXXX esophagus.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Have seen your details and reports attached,
1)From clinical point of view they are more or less the same.
2) Theoretical good but clinically doesnt matters a lot sir..Treatment is same.
3)Yes treatment is taking a Antacid like Prizolec daily and getting endoscopy repeated every 6 month or one year.
4)Yes the severity is mild and can be controlled by taking Antacids.
5)While endoscopy had been done he would have taken a sample of region and biopsy would had been done..If it was a esophageal cancer you would have got reports by now.
6)Just keep taking a normal diet and one tablet of Prizolec once daily...It's not cancer..It's just a result of the reflux disorder you are having.
Don't worry.
Take care.
