Is It Possible To Be Born Without Tonsils?
Question: a childhood friend of mine stated that his daughter was born without tonsils. He stated that it was noticed when his daughter complained of a sore throat. The doctor checked her throat stated that she had a throat infection and also informed that his daughter had no tonsils.According to my friend , his daughter never had them removed.
He asked me if it was possible. My response was that some people are born without certain organs , limbs and that maybe that his daughter fell in this category for her tonsils. I also told him to ask his child 's doctor if by chance that his daughter's tonsils never fully developed. Is it possible to be born without tonsils?

Brief Answer:
everyone is born with tonsils
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care questions.
Your friend's daughter was born with tonsils it just maybe that her tonsils are very small. Tonsils are made from lymphatic tissue and everyone has lymphatic tissue to survive. Her doctor may not have seen the tonsils as they have been very small and hidden behind other tissues.
