Brief Answer:
Shingles should be taken in consideration.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Yes, it is possible to have Shingles (Herpes Zoster ) with all it symptoms except for the blisters on the skin.It is very rare but not impossible. It is called zoster sine herpete, and in these cases the patient will experience all the symptoms of shingles except the typical rash on the skin.
This can make the diagnosis difficult.
When the diagnosis of shingles is in doubt ( when the rash is absent), a confirmatory test is Varicella-Zoster specific Antibodies IgM in blood .This test will confirm a recent infection with herpes.
Considering your symptoms ,localization and the fact that multiple studies failed to find the cause of your symptoms, shingles should be taken in consideration.
I suggest to discuss this option with your treating doctor and get the test to exclude shingles.

Hope it is helpful to you.
Let me know if you have any other question or doubt to clarify.I will be happy to assist you further.

Kind regards,
Dr.Rovena Murati
