Is It Possible To Have Both A Gall Bladder Attack And Appendicitis Simultaneously?
YES, not common but possible
Detailed Answer:
Good evening, this is Dr. David G.
I am reading through your inquiry here and I have to say that while not common to have to both a GALLBLADDER ATTACK and APPENDICITIS occur concurrently, it does happen, and I have seen 1-2 cases like that in the past. It can actually be a very confounding set of symptoms, since we as physicians are accustomed to seeing these independently of one another and when both present concurrently, it tends to force us to almost exclude either diagnosis here. Pain in both the right upper abdomen and the right lower at the same time, makes us think about more global abdominal problems and not focus in on two separate issues occurring at the same time. Now I have to say that the best diagnostic test here is going to be a CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis as it will look at both structures in one scan simultaneously, but to answer your question directly, yes, these two issues can occur at the same time!!!
Please let me know if that was helpful and if you have further questions do not hesitate to reach out!
