Is It Possible To Pump Milk For Child After An Abortion?

Breast pumps can be used to express breast milk safely.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
At 15 weeks of pregnancy, you can still go for medical methods of termination of pregnancy (mifepristone + misoprostol) if your gynecologist advises. Surgical intervention is the other option. In any case, these are unlikely to affect your breast milk production. Breast milk can be pumped safely using a breast pump. Different brands of silicone breast pumps are available. You can get one of your choice. It fits against your breast and there is a handle to create the suction pressure to pull out the breast milk. After expressing the breast milk, you can store it on the wall of a refrigerator where it can be safely stored for 24 hours and then thawed under running tap water. Alternatively, you can also freeze the breast milk. In the frozen state, it can be stored for 6 months but once thawed, it cannot be stored further.
Hope that helps.

Yes, you can. But the amount might not be significant.

Thanks for writing back.
Pardon me for not understanding your query. Breast milk is produced in response to the child's demand which is expressed with increased amount of sucking. The more hungry the baby, more does she suck. But if external feeds are given, automatically the tendency to suck comes down and so does the amount of breast milk produced.
If you have not breast fed in 5 months, your body physiology has already readjusted with the assumption that it does not need to produce milk. So, even if the baby sucks, the milk production is not likely to be high. Of course, after the abortion, you could breast feed. But the amount might not be significant.
In case you want the amount of breast milk to increase, you will have to keep this in consideration. You may take Lactonic granules one XXXXXXX in a glass of milk twice daily. It can help in increasing the amount of milk produced. You might need to discuss with your gynecologist about the alternative brands available.
Hope that helps.
