Brief Answer:
You may be able to get over it faster if you take birth control pills

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and I would be happy to answer your question today.

Your menstrual flow is tissue that was formed before inside your uterus over the course of the month. Your hormones fall as the month goes on if you do not get pregnant, which initiates your period. Once your period starts, there is no way to stop it unless you take hormones.

Birth control pills can regulate your menstrual cycle, and if you start them right away, your period may end sooner than usual. The hormone estrogen, which is present in the pill, can stop your period. IV estrogen is even used to treat heavy vaginal bleeding in an emergency situation.

So if you want to stop your cycle, you can take birth control pills, and to make them kick in faster, you can take two or three a day when you first start. Depending on where you live, you will need a doctor's prescription for the pills, and they take at least a couple of days to completely stop your bleeding. Once you finish the pills, your period will come again.

There is no way to just shut off your period instantly with any medication, but starting birth control pills is the fastest way to control your cycle.

I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today and that my advice was helpful. If you need anything further, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes,
