His urination has slowed...Drinks water....has cut back on hydrocodone thinking that may be doing it. Only takes one 30mg morphine every ten hours. Barely minimal relief as far as the pain.....any ideas? At ER had injection of 7mg, morphine and that didn't do anything. He has gone thru hell since last Monday. Right leg just drags and he lifts it by pulling on his XXXXXXX pant leg, holds my shoulder to get to bathroom etc.
Question about urination above!!!
trouble urinating, cut out hydrocodone, still taking morphine 30mg tablet...is this effecting urination...Drinks lots of water

Brief Answer:
Yes, opioids can lead to renal impairment.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Opioids like hydrocodone and morphine have renal excretion and can lead to impaired renal function.
Consult your doctor for urinary insufficiency.
He may advise blood investigation regarding kidney function.
If no relief with medication then local nerve root block under c arm guidance or epidural steroid injection may help to reduce pain.
