Is It Safe To Consume A Bottle Of Magnesium Citrate After Lunch?

Question: I am scheduled to have my bladder removed tomorrow. I just read the pre-op instructions . I have a colostomy and the instructions read to drink a bottle of magnesium citrate after lunch. I have takeno that stuff before and it is explosive! I am afraid of what it will do to my colostomy. My big box clinic is not available, so I need advice.

The magnesium citrate is designed to clear your bowels prior to the surgery.

If the effect of the magnesium is intense you could drink small amounts of the bottle over several hours to make the effect less problematic
