Is It Safe To Double The Dosage Of Alprazolam For Anxiety?
Question: Have been taking alprazolam 0.25 three times a day for over 3 months for my anxiety. Today I took my regular dosage that use to last between 7 and 8 hours but only lasted maybe 6. Took next one for bed at 8 PM and woke up at 1 AM with my ear roaring so I took another that lasted short of 4:30 AM.
Next regular dosage for me is around 6 AM but worried it will be too close to last dosage, guess I am wondering if doubling up on my dosage would be dangerous.
Trying to get into my Dr. this morning but that would be at 10 AM and don't want to go to the nearest emergency room unless something gets serious.

I understanding this could cause some anxiety as to some serious possible side effects. The good news is its not as serious as you think. You might simply have to increase the amount of water and other fluids to dilute the concentration in your system and facilitate a rapid elimination of the extra dose, since most of the drug is eliminated through urine.
There after, you simply go back to your usual drug dose. I do not think you are going to experience any serious die effects since the extra dosage was repeated in a single though with no considerable in increase in actual amount to cause any considerable damage. For I think, you really need not bother. Symptoms from the slightly close intakes of the drug should last at most a couple of days.
In case you experience any discomfort a couple of days after taking your regular dose at regular hours, you might then have to see your doctor. If not, no reason for serious panic.
