Brief Answer:
It is safe

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Monocef O is an antibiotic, contains Cefixime and it is safe for this age.

Cough and cold in this age group may be due to viral or bacterial infection. Most common bacteria causing respiratory infection in this age is streptococcus.

Cefixime has a very good coverage for this bacteria. Cefixime even covers other bacteria also, causing respiratory infection in this age.In various trials cefixime has been found a very good antibiotic and can be safely used.

So it is a good choice for respiratory infection in this age with very minimal side effects.
Observe for some specific symptoms like his oral acceptance, any increase in respiratory rate, persistent high fever and if you find any of these consult your physician.

I will be glad to answer if you have any further query.
