Question: Hello Doctor,

I am 4 months pregnant and I am suffering from severe cold and cough (wet) since past one month.

My doctor had prescribed following medicines, but have not respite

Syrupt Dexorange two times a day
Tablet Sinarest once a day
Hot water steam after adding (Carvol Plus) 3 times a day

Capsule Mox (250 Mg)

I am worried if it will affect my baby? Any other medicines that i can so i can get some relief?

Thanks

First of all don't worry , it will not affect your baby. You have been prescribed an antibiotic called MOX but I don't think that is a good choice in your case .

I would recommend you to get a test called Throat swab culture sensitivity test and revert back with the report.

Till then you can ask your doctor for a prescription of Azithromycin which will be better in your case and also safe in pregnancy.

Also do salt water gargling, drink hot water, Avoid Non veg and oily food . Avoid Citrus Fruits.

Hope this answers your query
