Is It Safe To Have Xanax For Anxiety And Discomfort Palpitations?
I went to the ER last night (10:30pm) after randomly feeling like I was going to pass out.. With have tingling in my lower legs and feet. They took some blood work coming to their conclusion that it was mainly an anxiety attack an from being dehydrated and only eating a little sandwich that whole day. They found meth an marijuana in my urine as well. Giving me an iv of fluids an sending me home Still feeling weird with anxiety and what I looked up to be heart palpitations. No pain just a lot of discomfort
I ate something small an went to sleep to waking up feeling the same way the next morning. The anxiety isn't as bad but the heart palpitations continues with discomfort.
thoughts?
And is it okay to take a xanax to calm down the anxiety an the feeling of rapid heart beats
Irregular heart beat a very common side effect of meth (more than marijuana)
Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Either you have been taking the meth and marijuana for quite some time, or you have just recently begun taking it or took it for the first time. In my opinion, you are new to using these substances.
Anxiety, palpitations, irregular heat beat, agitation, difficulty sleeping, and many others symptoms are all side effects of meth and marijuana use sir. The medical staff in the ER also attempted to dilute the effect/concentration of meth and marijuana in your system which is undoubtedly the cause for your symptoms sir. Once the meth and marijuana are washed out of your system, your symptoms will gradually subside and disappear.
Xanax may or may not work sir, as the main cause is the concentration of meth and marijuana in your system. Drink plenty of fluids, and try your best to eat adequately enough, so we can help flush the meth and marijuana out of your system. This will be most beneficial. You can choose to try the xanax if you wish to do so sir, but I feel it would be a slight risk as we are trying to get you off the effect of a few elements and then we add a few others to the equation. But if you really wish to take it, then take a minimal dose and please do so under the guidance of your personal doctor so he/she can help if at all you may require it.
I hope you find my response both helpful and informative sir. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help you.
Best wishes.
I appreciate your honesty and shall give you my opinion on the same
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.
Yes, the cause could be mixing bathsalts while cooking or preparation of the meth, but it could be the meth itself directly as well.
I completely understand how the ER can be expensive, and even worrying as they may ask you a dozen questions relating to your meth consumption and so on. Being very straight forward and honest here sir, we have 2 approaches to treating the symptoms or rather side effects of meth use, they are:
+Drink plenty of water and eat food regularly to help dilute the meth in your system. This also helps to increase expulsion of meth through urine and stool
+Try to relax and keep yourself distracted
+Try relaxation exercises like yoga, aromatherapy, etc.
+Google a guided relaxation video that may help you to relax
or
+Visit the ER and request for drugs like calcium-channel blockers or beta-blockers that should help reduce the weird heart beat and also help relax you to a certain extent
I would also like to add a few more points for your reference sir:
+Please avoid alcohol during this period
+Avoid caffeine
+Avoid any medications
+Avoid cough and cold medications
+Avoid nicotine and smoking
+The effects of the meth should not last more than 24 hours, so if you can somehow manage to tolerate the symptoms or get control of them, then this should all subside within 24 hours. But if at any point you cannot take it or if they last more than 24 hours (unlikely) then you can choose to report to the ER for the above mentioned medications sir
I hope you find relief at the earliest, and please do not hesitate to write to me about anything, I am here to help.
Best wishes sir.
It was my pleasure entirely, I am sure you will get better soon
Detailed Answer:
Hi sir.
You are most welcome.
As your symptoms began almost 10 hours later, then we should wait for 24 hours to pass from when your symptoms began. I am sure with the mild improvement you have experienced with passing time comes reassurance that your symptoms shall soon subside sir.
I wish you loads of luck and would like you to keep in mind that I am here to help, so do not hesitate to write to me.
Best wishes sir.
