Any kind of waves should be avoided in first trimester as this is the period of organogenesis and you never know what kind of exposures you are going to have which might be harmful to fetus.

They say that they are safe but no research has been carried which is authentic so it is better to avoid them up to 3 months and after that you can get them done if you want.
