Question: Am wondering whether to get shingles shot and how safe it is. I am 68 and have asthma. Had chicken pox as a child.

It is safe to get shingles shot. This is actually recommended to elders as part of prevention against disease. It is very safe and for sure there are no reasons to be afraid. Because you had chicken pox as a child, you are at risk for shingles seen your elderly age.

Just pain from injection and discomfort!

This vaccine is very safe and the most common side effects are injection related pain and discomfort. There is really nothing bad that you should be so concerned about.
