Is It Safe To Increase The Dosage Of Glipizide From 10mg To 15mg?
Question: After having a CT scan and being injected w/iodine compound, was advised to stop taking glumetza for 72 hrs. Can I increase my glipizide er to 15mg(taking 10)?
I am type 2 diabetic. Since I wa advisedto stop taking glumetza er for 72 hours, I wish to keep my blood sugar under control by taking an additional 5mg of Glipizide ER until I am cleared to resume taking Glumetza.

My last four glucose readings were 185, 162, 135, and 123. The 185, and 162 readings reflect when I was in the hospital for 24 hours and was not given my oral diabetes medication. After taking 10mg of glipzide last night and eating a light meal of a chicken XXXXXXX salad and 1 slice of corn bread, I had a 135 glucose reading 2 hours after eating. After waking up this morning, I had glucose reading if 123. The 123 reading was prior to eating breakfast today.,
