I am so sorry to hear about this difficulty you had with effexor. Effexor and lexapro are used to treat similar disease conditions. Some patients tolerate one better than the other. While one might be terrible for you, it might be the better option for another patient. Because of this, it is difficult to tell which is clearly better than the other. To address this problem, I will recommend that you go on lexapro. Listen to your body and depending on the results, we will be able to make conclusions.

Both medications are safe. Unfortunately, we do not tolerate drugs to the same extend. At least we know effexor was not friendly and we will monitor closely lexapro to make sure the same unpleasant experience doesn’t repeat itself.
