Is It Safe To Take Bevon CD Capsules For Elevated LDL And Cholesterol Levels?
Please follow suggestions and do HbA1c blood test
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.
1. Nice to know that your doctor has recommended lifestyle changes for you so that the LDL and total cholesterol might be monitored after 30 days.
2. The medicine BEVON CD is a vitamin and mineral supplement and good to be taken in your case.
3. I suggest you have daily 2200 kcal diet and include a balance of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Especially fats have to be controlled in your food. It is better to use olive oil for cooking at home. This has helped a lot of my patients to reduce LDL and total cholesterol levels in blood.
4. You are doing exercises and that is a good thing. Please do meditation for 30 minutes every day to reduce stress.
5. Fasting blood glucose shows a lot of variation and not reliable for confirming diabetes in every person. I suggest you do HbA1c test to know if you have a tendency to develop diabetes. If your HbA1c is more than 5.7 then you have to be careful about sugar in your food. If it is more than 6.4 then there is diabetes.
Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
Regards,
Dr.Vivek

Hi XXXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.
1. It is possible to get the levels back to normal in 1 to 3 months. Within a month, it might be difficult even after strict diet control.
2. Your weight is at upper limit of normal and you might try to reduce by more 6 to 8 kg. Do it slowly over 3 to 6 months.
3. Your lifestyle changes are excellent and hope you are able to follow it. If you cannot follow strict diet and cholesterol is elevated even after 1 to 3 months then statin is recommended.
4. Please follow sample diet like the one given below.

A cup of tea/ milk with 2 biscuits of your choice
Breakfast
2 parathas with curd or 2 plain rotis with paneer or 2 idlis with chutney/sambhar or 1 bowl of upma or oats and one egg occasionally
