Brief Answer:
Some risk is involved

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern regarding drug interactions.

The two drugs do carry some risk of interaction. They both increase the level of the neurotransmitter serotonin, which can cause serotoninergic syndrome a life threatening syndrome. It is a very rare occurrence, personally I haven't encountered one in 7 years as a neurologist, but it should be kept present. First manifestations might be increased blood pressure and heart rate.

So Immitrex should be used only if really necessary. You say your child is having a migraine, is he a chronic migraine sufferer, has he been diagnosed with It? Because at times the word migraine is used to describe headache in general but Immitrex is recommended only in true migraine.

If true migraine, other means should be tried first, though I see you have already tried Ibuprofen. Another option could be butalbital. If nothing is effective and Immitrex is really necessary it can be taken but try to restrict it's use to as rarely and as little as possible. 7 hours before Vyvanse should be enough, Immitrex half life is only about 2.5 hours and is eliminated after 9-12 hours, should be safe.

I hope your son will feel better soon.
