Is It Safe To Travel By Auto And Bus During 17th Week Of Pregnancy?
Question: Hello doctor
I am in 17th week of pregnancy. All reports are normal till now. I am travelling to my office by auto ( two ways – say 2.5Km) . Way has many humps & I am facing the same in my abdomen while I am in auto. I have the same feel even when I travel in bus as well (though impact may be less, not sure).
Is the travelling fine at this stage?
I also have to do walk for about 45 minutes daily to work. Can this be a brisk walk apart from my daily travel?

Brief Answer:
Dont worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing..
I understand your concern..
Travelling is fine..Its better to avoid jerky journey's in auto. Jerky journey's can cause preterm labour and early rupture of membranes in some people. Car journey carefully and train journey is fine.
Brisk walking is alright till 28 weeks. It would help you maintain a healthy pregnancy. If you have pain abdomen or irritable uterus, it would be better to take progesterone tablet after consulting with gynecologist.
Take healthy diet and adequate rest in left lateral position.
Hope I have answered your query.. Feel free to ask any doubts.. Good day..
