Posted on Wed, 10 Jun 2015
Question: I had blood clots in left leg 2 yrs. ago, my dr. stripped my veins and put some stents in. had to go back in last year, several times within the last two months i have had real severe pain half way between my groin and knee, also couple times in my right knee last night it happened and the veins inside and right above my knee puffed out crooked as maybe a worm and real hard. what do you think i need to do, had a death in famils 500 miles away, do you think i would be safe to travel that far?

Brief Answer:
Risky but doable with precautions

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. WIth history of DVT , varicose veins, stripping procedures and clots management, long drives and travels are always a risk. How ever you may go for an occasion like this by adapting some precautionary measures like wearing pressure stocking, staying mobilised, using a break every 2nd hour where you ambulate by getting out of the car. But before all that Get a doppler sonogram done for this recent popping veins above knee. Once you get a green signal from your reports, you may travel with precautions your doctor will guide you through.

I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
