Is It Safe To Use Fentanyl Patches For Fibromyalgia And Arthritis?
I have been suffering from severe Fibromyalgia coupled with Arthritis and Scoliosis. I have been treated with Gabapentin (limitedly successful) and Hydrocodone (somewhat helpful).
My question is: what is the reason Doctors are now so hesitant to use Fentanyl patches for patient relief of above symptoms? When I was prescribed Fentanyl, I had genuine and consistent lessening of my pain. It seems that Physicians are so wary of addiction issues that we are suffering needlessly!

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have read your query
Fentanyl is strong opioid anaesthetic drug.
It is not only use for pain but also as anaesthetic agent for surgery.
Fentanyl not only has side effect of dependence but also adverse reaction like-
Slowed breathing; slow heart rate;
Muscle stiffness; dizziness, vision problems;
Nausea, vomiting; itching, sweating; or
High blood pressure.
So it’s better to avoid this medicine. And restrict its use in acute cases only.
Continue your medicine, you can increase dose consulting your doctor.
Local injection may be helpful to gain long term pain free duration.
